Vintage Theme Wedding Costume Party

There will be a lot of photos on this post~We had a wonderful time hosting our 1st ever Vintage Theme Wedding Costume Party!! the weather was perfect we couldn't have asked for a better day. We had it on my patio/courtyard~~There were vintage honeycomb decorations, old cake toppers and photos, crepe paper, a bubble machine, little nut cups we made, lots of fairy lights and bows. Everyone was asked to come as a vintage bride, bridesmaid or anything else wedding related. We even had a grandmother of the bride and a hostess with one of those cute frilly aprons! We all brought our favorite appetizer and I made that old fashioned lime sherbet punch but added lime vodka to it. (Couldn't even tell but I think it kicked in later on, lol. )We played vintage Bride bingo and had a dirty gift exchange. Each person had to bring a cheap vintage "wedding gift" to put on the gift table. We put a number under each nut cup and the lowest number went 1st. they got to pick a gift and then the next person went and could take a new gift or steal a gift already open. That was super fun and everyone got a gift to take home. I think everyone had a great time, I know I did!! The **photo at the top is of me with my friend that I hosted the party with~I am in yellow and blue ~~there is a photo some place on here with me and my sister.

What a clever party theme! Your decor is sooo pretty (love that vintage trailer) especially the table, chairs, and the dress hanging on the fence. Okay, now I am hungry for wedding cake.
Thanks for sharing the fun.

That party looked like it was so much fun. I did a similar one a few years back. The difference was we had a mock wedding. The flower girl wore a child's dress pinned to the front of her shirt. I wore an old bridesmaid dress that had to be duck taped in the back. Too fun, you are a woman after my own heart. Thanks for sharing, Martha

This was a lot of fun! Some of the pictures look like they are right out of the 50's, and yet this was a unique and personal idea...I love it.

What a fun and different idea! I'll bet it was a hoot seeing everyone dressed up in wedding garb. The games sounded especially fun - we play that gift game at CHristmas with our Sunday school class. I would love to visit your shop - it looks like it's packed with loads of stuff that I'd NEED in my little farmhouse!

Hey, hey hey Michelle, I stopped in the other day but you were busy so I didn't stay. :) What fun! I am so jealous of all the fabulous vintage parties going on all over the place. Nothing ever happens in my part of the country. I have got to find a friend that loves old stuff like I do so we can travel to these things. I see a dress on one of your friends that looks suspiciously like my 1969 bridesmaid dresses...lol...only it's not pea green..Ugh! What was I thinking? And then there were the daisy bouquets....lol..a big part of the 60's. Anyway...your party looks like a blast and I just love your trailer. The ferguson tractor is Bobby G's pride and joy. :)

That looks so cool! Especially the trailer! My wife says she likes the dresses of the party's attendees. And the baby blue-pink motif too. She says it would have been much lovelier if the people wore Motown Tress wigs or something to further embody the theme. I wonder how they really did weddings back in the 70's.
